Budgam, Aug 31 (KNO): A middle school in the Heewudur village of Budgam is running out of crumbling three rooms lacking basic facilities.
A village Sarpanch told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the building is posing threat to the lives of students.
”We send our kids to the school for education and expect they will avail all the facilities like in other schools. But the situation is different here,” he said.
Students said that they study under open sky because there are no classrooms, buildings, kitchen, washroom or a playground. “We always live under the fear that the building may collapse,” they added.
Parents of the students admitted in the school said, ‘’Due to the dilapidated condition of the school, students face several hardships. They are scared due to the damaged conditions of classrooms. If it rains, water directly goes into classrooms. There is also a single washroom for all students.”
They said they have brought the issue into the notice of the concerned authorities but nothing happened so far—(KNO)
